How to use it
- Drop your sprite sheet. The grid is drawn over it right away.
- Set rows and columns, or the cell size, until the lines sit between frames. Add offset or spacing if the sheet has margins.
- Check the animation preview, then download. Frames are numbered left to right, top to bottom: frame_000.png, frame_001.png and so on.
The zip also contains frames.json with each frame's position on the original sheet, handy for writing your own importer.
FAQ
Rows and columns or cell size: which should I use?
If you know how many frames are in each row and column, use rows and columns. If you know the frame size, such as 32 × 32, use cell size. Both modes support offsets and spacing between cells.
What do offset and spacing mean?
Offset is the empty margin before the first frame, from the top-left corner. Spacing is the gap between frames. Exporters like Aseprite and TexturePacker often add 1 or 2 pixels of spacing.
Can I skip empty frames?
Yes. Turn on "Skip empty frames" and fully transparent cells are left out of the preview and the zip. Frames keep their original order.
Is the output lossless?
Yes. Frames are copied pixel for pixel into PNG files, so colors and transparency are preserved exactly.
