How it works
Each source pixel is copied into a square block of scale × scale pixels with no smoothing. When shrinking, the tool samples one pixel from each block, which restores art that was exported at a larger size.
FAQ
Why not just resize in an image editor?
Most editors smooth pixels when they resize, which blurs pixel art. This tool uses nearest-neighbor scaling by whole numbers, so every source pixel becomes a clean square block.
Why only whole-number scales?
At 1.5× some pixels become two pixels wide and others one, which makes lines look uneven. Whole numbers keep every pixel the same size.
Can I shrink an image that was already upscaled?
Yes. Pick ½×, ⅓× or ¼× to bring an upscaled export back to its original pixel size, for example before importing it into your engine.
What scale should I use for store screenshots?
Pick the largest whole number that keeps you at or under your target size. A 320 × 180 game screen at 6× becomes 1920 × 1080.
